After the Success of Mishkat Nour’s Educational Caravans… The Idea Expands Nationwide
Saving Families More Than 20 Million EGP!
As always, Mishkat Nour Foundation launches innovative projects that are then adopted across Egypt’s governorates.
Under the patronage of the Governor of Port Said, the Directorate of Education and Mishkat Nour Foundation presented a “great model” of free educational caravans for secondary and preparatory students.
This year, the foundation, in collaboration with Port Said’s Education Directorate and the Governorate, offered an exemplary initiative in free education services. The caravans provided comprehensive revision sessions for all subjects of the preparatory and secondary certificates, taught by top nationwide examiners and subject experts. The initiative aimed to serve students while lifting the financial burden of private tutoring from low-income families.
For the fifth consecutive year, Mishkat Nour and Port Said Education Directorate organized these caravans. The first initiative was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, with an online revision platform for secondary students that exceeded 2 million views. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the caravans continued to reach students consistently every year.
This year’s caravans witnessed unprecedented participation. The preparatory certificate caravan, held over five days in Port Said and Port Fouad, also included students with special needs from “intellectual schools,” who enjoyed recreational activities such as puppet shows. Many of the top-ranking students in the preparatory exams were regular participants in the caravans.
The secondary school caravans lasted for 8 consecutive days, with leading subject experts delivering sessions.
Attendance was remarkable, with nearly 40,000 students benefiting from the caravans in participating schools. Beyond Port Said, Mishkat Nour extended the service to students nationwide through daily live broadcasts on the foundation’s official Facebook page, covering all subjects. This digital outreach attracted massive interest, reaching nearly 5 million views across Egypt.
The caravans saved families millions of pounds—surpassing 20 million EGP in calculated costs—by eliminating the need for expensive private lessons.
Mishkat Nour Foundation for Science and Cultural Enlightenment extends its gratitude to Governor Adel Al-Ghadban of Port Said, the Directorate of Education in Port Said, and Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, for their trust and positive roles. Entrusting the foundation with organizing the free caravans reflects its credibility, efficiency, and proven experience in serving society across multiple charitable and educational fields.
By pioneering these free educational caravans in Egypt, Mishkat Nour set a model for others to follow. The Ministry of Education closely observed the impressive attendance, the strong impact on students, and the high level of achievement that resulted. Consequently, the ministry announced plans to expand this model nationwide, ensuring that students across Egypt benefit from the same high-quality free educational services.
