Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal Thanks the President, Commends the Governor, and Stresses the Positive Role of Civil Society Organizations

Mishkat Nour Foundation announced the provision of 120 small-scale projects for women in redeveloped areas and launched the “Bridges” Program to support civil society organizations serving people with disabilities and the visually impaired.

During his speech, Major General Adel Al-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, extended his gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his continuous support of low-income families, stressing that the President always instructs officials to respond to citizens’ needs and fulfill their requests.

This came during the ninth joint conference between Port Said Governorate and Mishkat Nour Foundation for Knowledge and Cultural Enlightenment, held at the Faiza Abou El-Naga Hall in the General Diwan of the Governorate. The conference was attended by Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation; Engineer Amr Othman, Deputy Governor; Major General Atef Wagdy, Secretary General of the Governorate; Major General Mohamed Hosseini, Head of the Executive Authority of the Free Zone; Dr. Nesreen Hassan, Director of the General Branch of the Universal Health Insurance Authority in Port Said; along with dozens of underprivileged families.

The Governor emphasized that God Almighty protects the nation and that Egypt is uniquely blessed as the only land upon which the Divine manifested. He added that the Egyptian state spares no effort to ensure its citizens’ well-being, security, and safety.

Governor Al-Ghadban stated: “Port Said Governorate has paid more than 1.5 million EGP in universal health insurance subscriptions and over 750,000 EGP in overdue rents for underprivileged families. The coming period will witness more meetings with these families to listen to their concerns and requests, and to provide continuous support to ease their burdens. We are all working sincerely for the benefit of the citizen and in service to God. President El-Sisi always cares for you and urges officials to do their utmost in serving the people.”

He praised Mishkat Nour Foundation, describing it as a qualified and trustworthy institution dedicated to serving the community. Despite the presence of 272 civil associations and foundations in the governorate, the credibility and effectiveness of Mishkat Nour have distinguished it, leading to fruitful cooperation with the Governorate. He noted that the President has emphasized the importance of civil society organizations as partners in Egypt’s development process.

The Governor also commended the home-based products of Mishkat Nour’s women beneficiaries, particularly detergents, and instructed for their immediate purchase and use.

In her remarks, Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal attributed Egypt’s progress and development to the vision of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and within Port Said specifically, to the leadership of Governor Al-Ghadban, who has consistently supported initiatives aimed at improving citizens’ lives. She highlighted the upgrading of 19,000 housing units in underprivileged neighborhoods such as Fatima Al-Zahraa, Al-Labana, Al-Amal, and Sayeda Nafisa, and praised the Governor’s backing of free educational caravans organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Education, which saved families an estimated 20 million EGP by offering final exam revision sessions for preparatory and secondary students, with five million views recorded nationwide.

She further applauded the new joint project with the Governorate, “Takaya Al-Kheir from Homes,” launched during Ramadan. The initiative engaged low-income women in preparing meals from their homes to be distributed among the most vulnerable families. Dr. El-Gammal expressed her belief that scaling this initiative across Egypt would make it one of the most impactful in the nation’s history.

Addressing misconceptions about the Foundation’s role, Dr. El-Gammal clarified that during the recent reception of the Logos Hope ship, the Governor had entrusted Mishkat Nour with organizational and promotional responsibilities, while financial matters were assigned to a separate company. Neither the Governorate nor the state bore any costs, and the event, held under the Governor’s auspices, was executed to the highest standards. It attracted more than 108,000 visitors in just two weeks, significantly boosting tourism, commerce, and Port Said’s reputation as a cultural hub. She stressed that Mishkat Nour’s mission is to organize purposeful, meaningful activities rather than empty celebrations.

Dr. El-Gammal concluded by expressing her gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Governor Adel Al-Ghadban, executive leaders, and Mishkat Nour’s staff and volunteers for their dedicated service to underprivileged families.

This initiative comes within the framework of Mishkat Nour Foundation’s efforts, in cooperation with the Governorate, to alleviate the burdens of vulnerable citizens in alignment with the Egyptian state’s broader vision of supporting low-income families and ensuring them a dignified life.

Governor Al-Ghadban directed the formation of committees to examine the cases of families most in need, to settle their universal health insurance subscriptions and overdue rents. These committees include representatives from the Governorate’s Governance Department, the Executive Authority, Al-Dawahi and Al-Zohour districts, Legal Affairs, Public Relations, Mishkat Nour Foundation, Universal Health Insurance, and the Housing Department.

At the close of the conference, Governor Adel Al-Ghadban presented financial gifts from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to 110 families in attendance.
