Major General Adel El-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, inaugurated the Summer Exhibition for Productive Families and Small Traders on Saturday evening in the Montazah Park Square, next to the Beach Mosque on Tarh El-Bahr Street. The exhibition is being held in cooperation between the Port Said Governorate and the Mishkat Nour Foundation for Science and Cultural Enlightenment, and will initially run for a month.
The Governor was received by Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Mishkat Nour Foundation, and a number of public figures and executives. Major General Adel El-Ghadban, accompanied by El-Gammal, inspected the exhibition, which featured dozens of small traders who displayed their various goods, including clothing, shoes, cosmetics, and leather products such as bags, belts, wallets, and other goods for which the city is famous.
The exhibition witnessed a large turnout of productive families, who displayed various products of their own production, ranging from handicrafts and handmade works, whether woodwork, beads, crochet, or macramé, among other items. The Governor also attended training sessions for women from the Mishkat Nour Foundation. To produce detergents, kilims, crochet, and sewing, among other training programs, Mishkat Noor offers women the opportunity to work from home to improve their income and become self-sufficient.
The foundation aims to teach hundreds of families annually various crafts and industries. Women and trainees from Mishkat Noor's productive families displayed their products, which they learned and trained on under the guidance of leading specialists provided free of charge by the foundation. These products included detergent manufacturing, crochet, sewing, embroidery, and kilims.
The exhibition also featured young people who excelled in producing fast food, hot and cold drinks, as well as children's toys, a Mishkat Noor awareness puppet theater, masks, tuffet, small cars, a DJ, and light shows that attracted everyone's attention and admiration.
The exhibition is part of the Economic Empowerment Program, one of Mishkat Noor's programs, which focuses on supporting and empowering families to produce, market, become self-sufficient, and increase their incomes. The program aims to train 500 families in various businesses before the end of the year. The exhibition has been very popular since its opening, with hundreds of visitors, which has had a positive impact on the exhibitors.
