A success story in developing the Al-Labbana area
The Al-Labbana area is one of the regions that needed complete reconstruction and behavior modification for all the residents of the area. Thanks to the grace of Allah, the Mashkat Noor Foundation implemented the Ethics Kiosk project with all its programs simultaneously and in the same area, contributing to the modification of behavior and the elevation of sustainable development rates.
The area underwent development, including:
- Removal of 70 tons of waste from the area
- Commencement of a study on the behavior of the area and the establishment of behavior modification systems
- Replacement and modification of the entire internal and external sewage network
- Renovation and maintenance of all inspection rooms
- Maintenance and renovation of insulation on rooftops in all buildings
- Demolition of facades of 16 buildings, and complete plastering
- Renovation of stairs in 16 buildings
- Installation of an electrical network throughout the entire area
- Cooperation with the governorate in demolishing the slaughterhouse area, a hotspot for crime
- Cooperation with the governorate in closing waste collection centers and digging in the area
- Distribution of necessary pesticides to disinfect the area from rodents resulting from garbage stores
- Installation of ceramic floors in all residential units on the ground floor of 16 buildings to prevent the entry of rodents and rats
- Construction of pavements and interlocking throughout the area
- Paving the area in collaboration with the governorate
- Finishing the facades of buildings with cheerful colors
- Establishing a system to maintain the cleanliness of the area
- Training a team to modify the behaviors of the area through the Ethics Kiosk project
- Implementation of small projects for the people of the area
- Providing all necessary social and medical assistance
Before working in the Labbana area, the impact measurement was zero. After working in it and implementing the Ethics Kiosk project and its programs entirely at the same time, the impact measurement rate became 60%, according to the latest impact studies after six years.
The number of beneficiary families in the area after implementing the Ethics Kiosk project is 1536 families.
