Chair of Mishkat Nour: We work solely for the sake of God—without worldly interests, political agendas, or personal gain.

In a wide-scale ceremony held at the Port Said Governorate headquarters, and in cooperation with Mishkat Nour Foundation for Science and Cultural Enlightenment, Governor Adel Al-Ghadban welcomed vulnerable families identified by the official committee for settling overdue comprehensive health insurance subscriptions and unpaid rents of public housing in the Al-Zohour and Al-Dawahi districts. During the event, receipts for the paid subscriptions and rents were handed to the eligible families.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mishkat Nour Foundation, Major General Mohamed Husseini (Executive Director of the Free Zone), Dr. Nesreen Hassan (Director General of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority in Port Said), Mohamed Qouta (Director of the Information Center and Citizen Services at the Social Insurance Authority), Hala Abu El-Ezz (Head of Al-Dawahi District), and Fawzy El-Waly (Head of Al-Zohour District).

Governor Al-Ghadban emphasized that settling the health insurance subscriptions and rent arrears for vulnerable families was a gift from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who continuously provides support for Egypt’s most needy citizens to alleviate their burdens and ensure them a dignified life. He stressed that more meetings will be held with low-income families in Port Said to listen to their concerns and provide ongoing support.

He added: “We all work first and foremost in service of the citizen, sincerely for the sake of God. President El-Sisi always cares for you and instructs officials to do their utmost to serve the people. Our efforts are dedicated to improving the lives of our children through development in all areas. Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing the people of Port Said enjoying the renovated parks and the beauty of our resilient city.”

The Governor also underlined the importance of family awareness during this critical phase and the need to avoid misleading rumors. He praised the Comprehensive Health Insurance System, describing it as “the greatest project Port Said has ever witnessed, as it benefits every single citizen, especially low-income families.”

He extended his deepest gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for launching this historic system, beginning with Port Said as the first governorate nationwide, highlighting its positive impacts in improving medical care, ending waiting lists, reducing surgery costs, and allowing citizens to undergo operations locally rather than traveling elsewhere.

Governor Al-Ghadban praised Mishkat Nour Foundation for its effective role in reaching vulnerable families, thanks to its expertise, strong organizational capacity, and systematic approach in classifying families and delivering assistance. He stressed that the foundation operates without exploitation, publicity, or worldly gain—seeking only to serve God. He also acknowledged the vital responsibility carried by all officials in Egypt, given the challenges the nation has overcome in past years, and commended civil society organizations for their essential role.

For her part, Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mishkat Nour Foundation, praised the efforts of the Governor since taking office, describing him as “the leading champion of development in Port Said, continuously supporting ideas and projects to improve citizens’ lives, from developing residential neighborhoods in Al-Dawahi to endorsing today’s initiative of settling health insurance and rent arrears for vulnerable families.”

She emphasized that it was the Governor himself who requested lifting all insurance and rent burdens off needy families to ease their hardships. Dr. El-Gammal reaffirmed that Mishkat Nour acts solely for the sake of God—without political motives, personal ambition, or hidden agendas—and stressed that supporting vulnerable families is their most basic right. She expressed her gratitude to all committee members and district heads for their efforts, confirming the Foundation’s commitment to providing comprehensive support—social, medical, educational, and beyond—to raise living standards and empower families to overcome life’s challenges.
